Live From Dibden, 2020 – Brett Hughes
Live at Northern Vermont University at Johnson. Brett Hughes has been kicking around the Burlington, VT music scene longer than he probably should— but while he’s been at it.
He’s played with a pile-up of bands: Chrome Cowboys, Monoprix, Belle Pines, Cider House Boys, viperHouse, Whateverly Brothers, Mike Gordon And Ramble Dove, Whiskey Likkers, Wrecking Ball, The Decentz, Fortune Tellers, All Fall Down, and many more that he can’t remember the names of.
He’s been hosting Honky Tonk Tuesday at the Radio Bean for over 8-1/2 years, and he loves being the harmony singer with sweet-singing women in little duos—Me&You (with Marie Claire), Kat Wright, Toni Catlin, Lesley Grant, and Lila Webb. He’s reconnected with great Mississippi-based force of nature Shannon McNally, touring around the Northeast and around Tennessee and Mississippi this Spring, as well as jumping in on a couple of dates opening for 2013 Grammy Winner Rodney Crowell.
He recently produced Joe Adler‘s soon-to-be-released full-length album of songs, and co-produced Steven Leibman‘s 2012 masterwork, I Know They’re There. He recorded the second Surprise Me Mr. Davis album, which features The Barr Brothers and Nathan Moore, and won a regional Emmy Award for composition for his soundtrack to Windy Acres in 2005
